The editorial board of the journal Port Acadie: An Interdisciplinary Review in Acadian Studies is pleased to announce an extension of the deadline for submissions for issue 39 (Fall 2023), “Diversity and Inclusion in Acadie and in Acadian Studies.” Please see below our call for papers:
While the Acadian experience has always been characterized by plurality, due to the historical dispersal of communities, contemporary Acadie increasingly embraces the values of diversity and inclusion. In the same spirit, our journal, true to its name, aims to be a haven that welcomes different perspectives in Acadian studies, in all disciplines and on a wide variety of issues. How has diversity shaped and how does it continue to shape Acadian society as well as the diaspora? How can we make inclusion a fundamental principle of Acadian studies?
In order to better understand these questions, we welcome submissions for issue 39 of Port Acadie : revue interdisciplinaire en études acadiennes, to be published in the fall of 2023. Port Acadie publishes refereed work (in French or in English) – scholarly articles and research notes – as well as essays (in French or in English), reviews of scholarly and literary publications, interviews and creative texts. Manuscripts for the Fall 2023 issue should be received by April 1, 2023.
